The first sign of spring is the Capital Region Flower & Garden Expo at Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, New York. As you enter the show, intricate displays highlight the artistic and creative aspects of floral design. Stroll into the arena to immerse yourself in spectacular floral vignettes, stunning full-scale garden displays, and an ecological landscape exhibit focused on sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. An incredible sand sculpture transformation adds a whimsical touch to this event. There are educational stations thoughout the show to provide valuable insights into maintaining and creating unique outdoor spaces. Shop the Marketplace featuring a diverse selection of over 200 flower, garden and outdoor living themed exhibitors and 3000 sqft of popular as well as unusual houseplants, succulents, bulbs, and seeds. Since its founding more than 50 years ago, Wildwood has provided a broad range of community-based supports to individuals of all ages living with the challenges of complex learning disabilities, autism and other developmental disabilities. Today, Wildwood’s comprehensive continuum of services suppports 3,500 individuals and families annuallly to maximize their independence. Whether it is community, education, employment or housing, Wildwood’s timesless goal is to help people live a life of dignity, productivity and fulfillment. Though Wildwood no longer manages the Capital Region Flower & Garden Expo, they are still very involved. A portion of each ticket sold is donated to Wildwood.
